     My Love
Not Part of the Second Chance Drabbles.

The death of Ace hit Y/n hard. Harder than anyone thought possible. She wasn’t at the War, thankfully. However, she saw it just as clear with the Visual Den Den Mushi at Saboaby Archipegalo. They left her in the care of Raeligh, who was more than happy to care for a former shipmates child. He knew her parents, and they were quite young when they joined the crew. However, it didn’t stop them from packing a punch. Which it seems their daughter inherited.
So when he heard Y/n let out a heart wrenching scream, the only thing he could do was watch as her world fell apart. Y/n held onto her shoulders, trying to keep the broken pieces together as best as she could. Her e/c orbs watered, and snot began to trail down her nose. The scream she let out was one of a broken heart, and soul. She held onto the Ace’s orange hat, and fell to her knees. Her s/c drained of it’s color, and her e/c began to dull. Y/n’s tears wouldn’t stop, and they only increased when Whitebeard died. After that, Y/n fell to the ground, and Raeligh was quick to rush to her side. She was in shock, and heart broken. He quietly put her in the bed she has been sleeping in, and shut off the lights. Leaving her in pitch darkness.

When Marco came to pick her up, he couldn’t even meet her eyes. First Thatch, then Ace, and now Whitebeard. He bit his lip when he saw the orange hat, and nearly started crying when he saw how broken she was. Marco gently picked up the breaking child, bowed to Raeligh, and headed towards Shank’s ship. They all wanted Y/n to be there for Ace’s funeral. It was the best they could do for her.
Shanks smiled sadly when he saw M/n and F/n child. She looked too much like her mother. Yet her quiet personality was that of her father’s. Shank’s introduced himself, which he received a weak nod. He smiled sadly, and nodded at Marco. Marco gave a thank you, and headed towards his room, where Y/n would be sleeping. She hasn’t moved since he picked her up, nor has she eaten. Her eyes were hollow, and her will to live seemed little to nothing. Marco hugged her before he laid her down for bed.
“I’m sorry Y/n. I’m so sorry.” That seemed to do it for Y/n. She bursted out crying. Fat tears rolled down her eyes, and stained Marco’s vest. Her cries were muffled, and Marco held her tighter. His own tears rolled down his cheeks as he silently cursed at Ace.
‘Damn it Ace! Why?! Why would you leave Y/n so broken like this?!’ His thoughts were met with nothing but the sounds of Y/n crying. Marco held her until her crying ceased. Which only happened because she cried herself to sleep. Marco tucked her in, and sat outside the room. He leaned against the door, and put his head between his knees. He clenched his fists, and gritted his teeth. It killed him to see Y/n like this. Their baby sister was broken, and didn’t seem like she could be repaired. Marco ignored the footsteps that were headed his way. He didn’t even look up when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
“It’ll be okay. She is her parent’s daughter, she’ll recover.” Shanks deep voice sounded throughout the empty hallway.
“How do you know? She not even nine and has been dealt with a shitty hand at life. What more is there to keep her going?” Marco seethed. Shanks leaned against the opposite wall, a frown on his face.
“I told you, she’s her parent’s daughter. She’s M/n’s daughter.” Marco smiled, remembering the woman he met only once. Even Whitebeard seemed a bit wary around her. He recalls Pops saying how that woman could put the devil to shame, and had even Roger quivering one time.
“Is it true that M/n had Roger shaking?” Marco asked. Shanks gave a silent chuckle,”She made everyone quiver. Despite being younger than almost everyone, and a lot smaller. She new how to bring someone down on their knees with her words. They were laced with poison that no antidote could fix.” Marco tried imagining their Y/n like that, yet couldn’t see it. Shanks snorted,”Despite that, she had a beautiful voice.” Marco looked at Shanks, who was looking at the ceiling with a reminiscing look.
“That woman would put sirens to shame with her voice. However, the most beautiful song was My Love.” Shanks looked down at Marco, a smile on his face. However, Marco noted how the smile didn’t reach his eyes. They were heartbroken.
“You… you liked her didn’t you.” Shanks nodded,”Yes, however F/n got her first, and he was a man I respected.” Shanks gave a bitter smile.
“I’ll never forget the day M/n came to me with a baby in her arms.” This caught Marco’s attention even more. Shanks continued,”She looked so happy holding that bundle of beauty in her arms. However, at the same time she was scared. The Marines had managed to kill F/n, and were now after her. She told me the baby’s name before running again in fear for the baby’s life.” Shanks paused.
“I never heard from her again.” Marco looked down,”That still doesn’t answer my questions.”
“The one thing that’ll keep her going will be you guys. YOu just need to make her realize it.” With that Shanks walked away leaving, Marco alone with his thoughts.

The day was finally here. Marco held onto Y/n’s hand as she placed a tiger lily on Ace’s grave. Tears ran down her cheeks, and her lip quivered. It was so painful to look at the two mounds. She held onto Ace’s hat, her body shaking with every step away from the two graves. She held onto Marco’s hand tighter as they gazed at the graves in silence.
It hurt. It hurt so much. She could feel herself dying on the inside as every second passed. Her savior, her knight in shining armor, he brother was gone forever. All he left in his wake were broken hearts, and broken girl.
Everyone left Y/n alone, standing in front of the grave that killed her. Y/n glanced at it, and fell to her knees. She let out a choked sob, then started crying even harder. Her arms hugged the orange hat that held so many memories. She got in a crouched position and began hitting the ground in anguish. She didn’t stop when her hand began to bleed, or when it went numb. She stopped when she felt an all too familiar presence.
“I keep telling you I’d never leave.” His voice held a smile in it. Y/n furrowed her eyebrows in anger and sadness.
“You already left.” She choked out. An airy laugh left his lips,”Nonsense, I still have a lot of people to protect. And you’re one of them.” Y/n shook her head. She felt a warm hand on her back, and she cried even harder.
“Y/n,” She halted her sobbing,”live for me.” Y/n cried even harder, and nodded.
“I will. I promise. I’ll become strong, and more stronger.” She repeated this over and  over. She repeated to where the sky was beginning to set, and the world was fading to darkness. Y/n got up, and numbly began to walk back to everyone. However, before she completely left she felt a push on her back. She stumbled and looked back. Only to see the two graves there. She stayed there for a few seconds, before giving a tiny smile.
“See you, Ace.” With that she ran down to where everyone was waiting, and jumped into Marco’s arms. They left the island with Shanks, and celebrated the passing of the two greatest gifts given to them. Before the island was completely out of sight, a figure of a man with the Whitebeard insignia on his back stood a top of the hill.
    “See you, Y/n.”
